Times Neue Roman

Times Neue Roman

Live from “The End” - the band’s Kensington Market (Toronto) basement studio - Times Neue Roman rock with a general tone and attitude of teenage immortality. Comprised of an award winning poet, Arowbe Arowbe Arowbe (Robert Bolton) and composer, Alexander The, TNR’s peerless ‘one of one’ sound has been called “nintendo-punk-rap” and “post-rap” by media and supporters.

Since debuting at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 2008, Times Neue Roman have been rousing crowds at basement jams, rooftops, auto-garages, house parties, shitty pubs, glitzy clubs, NXNE, Juno Fest and out the back of a U-HAUL truck. They flaunt a live show complete with wild theatrics, reckless moshing, tribal percussion, live visuals and all of the bangers their fans are used to getting loose to.

Even while breaking every rule of song writing and conventional structure, TNR’s popular potential is confirmed by recent placements on the EA Sports video game, Fight Night: Round 4 and TV series like CSI: Las Vegas, A&E’s The Cleaner, MTV Presents: Summer Sessions and 11th Hour.

With lyrics covering such subject matter as “music and math, glamour and glitch, sound and silence,” TNR have dropped non-stop content since the incipient.

About:

YYZ Records was born out of our passion to share great music with the world.

Tired of constantly being dissatisfied with the usual trends, we represent artists that we feel are truly unique to the rest of the music community.

YYZ Records is a vehicle to not only make the aspirations of these artists a reality, but also to serve as a platform for which they can be heard.

No longer are we willing to take a back seat to the status quo of popular music. We’re here to bring change to the repetitiveness of today’s musical landscape.
